I make a stab at hymns from time to time. As I mentioned to someone I recently sent a "blessing" in the form of a hymn, I have dubbed my attempts "Struggle On." I usually find some lines flow easily as if the Lord has given them to me, while others I struggle and grasp to come up with! The one below is a companion to the standard "Jesus Loves Me" stanza.
Jesus Loves Me. 7s. (January 15, 2019)
1. Jesus loves me, but I ask,
Why he took upon this task?
Love to sinners God commends;
Makes his enemies his friends.
2. Jesus knows me, this I love.
He will take me up above.
So my hope is when I die,
He will take me up on high.
It can be sung to "Jesus Loves Me," should anyone want to do so.
