Well, I actually think a fair case can be made for Jesus' having "broken the scripture" when he reversed Moses on divorce. He did so by ascribing what was clearly as much part of "God's law" as the rest of the Mosaic law to Moses' personal, humanly motivated authorship. And substituted his own ruling.

Ed: The thing that bothers me about the SDA , Mormons and Christian Scientist and perhpas others is their adherence to some doctrines developed by their founders and treating those founders as if they where deity.

BTW, I do not consider Catholics to be cult members, however if some one who has a history of Cathloism were to request membership in our church I would want to know that they have renounced certain teaching of the Catholic church. Veneration of Marry is the first to come to mind.

Likewise if I were to seek membership in a Presbyterian church I would expect them to insist that I give up my opposition to infant baptism. Fact is, that is a major reason why I am not Presbyterian. There was a time when a family acquaintance offered me substantial financial assistance for college and Seminary if would become Presbyterian. And no I do not consider Presbyterians a cult.
