At the Hymn Society's virtual convention a couple of weeks ago, I overspent my intended budget at the "silent auction" benefitting the Society's Lovelace Scholarships.

Nice! I saw your post about some of those over at Sacred Harp Friends, but I'm not on the Hymn Society group, so I didn't know about all those others or how you had purchased them. Are there any in particular that excite you based on your own interests and ends?

The one I probably want to spend the most time in is probably Aikin's Christian Minstrel (the point of origin of the most widespread seven-shape notation), but unfortunately it's in the worst shape, missing at least the first seventy-some pages plus some at the end. Also, the ca. 1850 Devotional Harmonist. But even the words-only ones are great, with the bilingual 1902 River-Brethren one probably at the top of my list.
