His tweet of himself (actually a retweet) fiddling while <<imperial capital>> burns was intriguing. Of course, Christians who think Trump walks on water also probably believe Nero was the first Roman Emperor to be baptized...
...well, except for the ones who think he was the hero of the animated film "Where's Nero..."

Sometimes there's a perfect storm. Blagogevich was an in-your-face politician when it came to his political opponents. Republicans hated him with a passion. His conviction opened the door to the election of a Republican governor in Illinois. He only lasted one term, but that was a big deal. So a lot of them are hopping mad over his commuted sentence. I don't think it was just this specific incident which caused this particular individual to drop support for Trump, though he hasn't really discussed it openly, though to discuss Trump's faults among supporters is taboo. It was the proverbial "straw" situation.

In Illinois right now, not only was the commuting of Blagogevich's sentence a bombshell, but a former Republican Congressman from Illinois 18th district, a vitriolic, in-your-face, aggressive gay basher and initiator and supporter of multiple anti-LGBTQ legislation by the name of Aaron Schock just came out of the closet. That's been speculated for a while, even before he had to resign from Congress amid corruption charges over the misuse of campaign funds (supposedly he used taxpayer dollars to build a "Downton Abbey" set in his congressional office). Republicans are smoldering over that.

That (Schock story) gave me and Mrs H a good laugh. But was it campaign funds or taxpayer dollars? Or, somehow, both?
