No body heard this as you were on in Alabama during the Impeachment Enquiry. You should promote and repeat next week. So far you are wasting time. A few years ago I called the Paul Finebaum show and talked to Greg McElroy the Tide QB who was a Rhodes Scholar Nominee. I brought up Howell Raines piece of the New Republic Farewell to the Bear of 84 which made the case Bear Bryant coulda leveraged his influence to move Wallace faster in a progressive direction and coulda done more prophetically on the side of ML King. Now Nick Saban is in the Trump era and not doing much other than a Saturday's Down South lament a few days after Trump implied two of his Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram and and Derrick Henry were SOBs cause they didnt sign on Trump's interpretation of the Kaerpernick affair. So except for the Emory Proff you wasted an hour when you coulda done something substantive.

For many reasons, none of them having to do with liking either team, I was happy to see Auburn's 48-45 win over the Tide on Saturday.

I'm sure that has some implications for politics, the SBC takeover and other related incidents, and will wait for Stephen's commentary on it.

Gus was a disciple of Ronnie Floyd in NW Arkansas. and his predecessor Tuberville is running as a Super Trumper for US Senate.

Meanwhile Saban and wife gave a million dollars to the student ministry of St Francis Catholic in Tuscaloosa.

That said Gus outwitted Saban for the final Auburn first down and kept Waddle off the field for what coulda been a punt return.

That was really a remarkable call or a stroke of luck. Personally, I didn't think Alabama was as good as its ranking this season, but since they opted not to play anyone of consequence, their reputation got them there. Auburn gets a little bit out of having a tougher schedule, including for deciding to take on a top 10 Oregon team in the season opener, always a risk, and the satisfaction of knowing they kept Alabama out. Some other team, Utah, Oklahoma or Baylor, will owe them a debt of gratitude down the road. Was Malzahn really in trouble regarding his job?

I was hoping Texas A&M would knock off LSU, then that the Tigers would turn around and beat Georgia, which, with the right combination of other things happening elsewhere, might have eliminated an SEC representative from the final four. LSU's win assured the SEC of one of the four spots. The committee's preference is "win and you're in" at the conference championship level, so the #4 team will be either Utah, Baylor or Oklahoma. They'll have a tough choice if Utah wins its championship game. It's getting close to a real playoff. Add one week and four more teams, and you'd have everything you need to play it out on the field instead of letting a committee pick.
