In 2018 Trump’s Foundation was charged with using his “Charitable” foundation for his private businesses and his 2016 campaign: .

Now a court finding has found that charge to be true and ruled:



Mores sleaze that will add to his prison term once out of office. It should also be used as an additional Article of Impeachment, imo, since it helped his election.

We will see if Trump pays anything and if his children do any training.

He was a corrupt con artist, adulterer, philanderer, cheat, liar, scam operating, bribing thief long before he got elected. Most of the Republicans in Congress are still defending him, not by proclaiming his innocence, but by silence and simply avoiding the subject, or by claiming the threat of "civil war" if he is held accountable for his misdeeds, or, like Lindsay Graham, just admitting that his administration and he himself were too incompetent and inept and don't know enough about the constitution and the law to actually know they were wrong when they held up military aid to Ukraine and tried to blackmail the government into lying about Hunter Biden or at least just using the word "investigation". Graham has decided his best course of action is to "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" and hope that his tanking poll numbers hold out long enough to get re-elected.

The Trumps are the kind of people who have decided to do as they please and count the cost of buying their way out of trouble as overhead and expense. He's already buying votes in the Senate in advance of his impeachment by taking some of his campaign money and dropping it in the Pacs that have formed to help re-elect Republican senators.

Take heart. The Democrats blue wave continues. They won a governor's seat in Kentucky, took complete control of the Virginia legislature, won multiple local elections across red states (including Indiana) rode a wave of anti-Trump sentiment to do it, at least if you consider exit polls accurate. If, after all of the crimes he committed are exposed in an open impeachment hearing, which is what Republicans lip flapped and shrieked that they wouldn't get, but are getting, the senate still won't budge, you can take it to the bank, the voters sure will. Some of those senators with fingers in ears and hands over eyes are going to be out along with the orange headed buffoon.

I've been looking for a good summary of the impeachable offenses. This one is mostly the Mueller stuff but it's pretty comprehensive.

Washington's former GOP AG & Senator Slade Gorton stated last week that he could see at least counts on which Trump would merit impeachment. He didn't say whether he would recommend removal from office, but I think maybe a dozen is enough to seriously warrant it. I haven't seen anything on the subject from our GOP ex-governor Dan Evans, but my guess is he agrees with Gorton. (My granny said, in the mid-1960s, Evans was the first Republican she had voted for since 1932.)

It's sleaze. And it is sleaze. Taking money on the claim that go towards veterans' needs, and then spending it on oneself when one is, in fact, a draft dodger whose only military service was in reform school and then later as CinC is pretty sleazy, William. And veterans who admire the man need vision care of a sort the VA apparently doesn't cover.

Noting that during the impeachment of Andrew Johnson, two of the articles involved rude statements Johnson had made in venting his frustration about Congress, impeachment being whatever the House majority says is a technically correct assessment.

Congress has, in the past, passed some legislation with the precedent of having been used as a standard in previous impeachments, noting that other government officials, not just the president, can be impeached under the same constitutional statute:
(1) improperly exceeding or abusing the powers of the office;
(2) behavior incompatible with the function and purpose of the office; and
(3) misusing the office for an improper purpose or for personal gain.[6][1]

In order to avoid indictments during the special counsel investigation, Trump's own justice department limited its scope by declaring that a sitting president could not be indicted by any authority except Congress via impeachment. So in that list from the Washington Press in the blog article I cited are a number of crimes that would probably not be considered otherwise and about which people would likely not be aware except now they are going to be part of the public hearing process. If nothing else, it provides insight into the fact that he is a criminal. That is, for those who read and pay attention and don't have their head buried in video games on their phone all day.
