Those are pretty high numbers. I'll be interested to see how Republicans disguise and put those "socialist" issues in their platform. Maybe they don't get it that Canada's low prices and abundance of prescription medications are the result of government regulation and that's socialism.

My guess is that after 2020, the Republicans may be on board for genuine campaign finance reform. Several billionaires are kicking in a pretty big chunk of cash to the DNC's senate and presidential election fund that will counter the Koch brothers.

I think it progress for any dem to say nothing is free. Refreshing, really.

Obviously there is stuff that is free in a sense. Probably the closest to "really" free is death, then air, then taxes. Obviously none even of these is ultimately and completely free. Death costs you your life. If William means we should give up striving for freedom because 'tain't ever gonna happen, well, that's a different sense of "free".

Books are freely borrowable from the public libraries. But of course the libraries were not erected and filled with books at no cost to anybody. Democrats don't claim they were. Fox News will occasionally cherry-pick a quote to make it sound like a Dem said that, but it'll be out of context, and quite often actually the opposite of what it meant when the context was present. CNN will occasionally do the same thing to a quote from Trump or Mitch McConnell or somebody like that. I'm sure at some point somebody will make AOC out to be a right winger because of her alliance with Ted Cruz.

I would generally favor upping the cap on SS taxes. Removing repatriation taxes probably benefits citizens more than a tax. A wealth tax is simple confiscation by gummit: "You got it. We're gonna take it."

Dems are on the free stuff binge. Let's see how far they go. Reparations for descendants of slaves and trans. Who else wants on the free stuff wagon?
