My initial comment: The attack on Congress has shown the degree of hatred that Trump supporters (neo-Nazis, white supremacists, anti-semites, gun supporters, Hillary haters, some evangelicals, some democrat haters, some anti-socialism, and anti-LBGTQs) have and that they act when dear leader commands. Removing Trump will not end this despicable set of movement(s). Only a movement of the Spirit will do (btw, nominally non-Christians can have movements of he Spirit).

I congratulated my modlib friends the day after the election. No conspiracy, qanon, election stolen stuff from me. Wrote a piece the day after about praying for prez elect Biden. Trump cost the gop the senate. Destroyed his own political future. Made himself a liability, toxic to all but the lunatic fringe.

I’m sure we all share revulsion of the capitol takeover.

OK I read my “junk”. Just to be clear Trump supporters are a coalition of the groups I mentioned and some other groups (e.g. wealthy businessmen looking for regulatory handouts). And the makeup of the Capitol insurrection group I sure includes some from each category; not that all invaders are all of these categories. I qualified the less violent (and probably less participatory) as “some" evangelicals, “some" who’s motivation is anti democratic/socialistic policies. That is not “junk”, it is reasonable assumptions.

Perhaps there are some names that do need to be attached to this. Insurrectionists is one, lynch mob is another (since they had built a makeshift gallows out front for Congress members they hate), thieves who stole property belonging to the American people and possibly intelligence from offices they burglarized (which would call for prosecution under the intelligence laws or the Patriot Act), vandals who caused untold thousands of dollars of destruction to the Capitol, and murderers who killed a police officer doing his duty to protect the members of Congress. Let's label them for what they are and prosecute accordingly. Being a cop's kid, I frankly hope those who murdered the officer with a fire extinguisher and the pipe sleeves they carried over the bases of their flag poles never see the outside of a prison for the rest of their lives--the death penalty would be too good for them.

I was not pointing any finger at you for the drop of BL usage. Just expressed that this space is less attractive for me because of your instant puts downs to whatever I post (e.g. recently “blind”, “addled brain”, “junk”, etc. etc.). You have a funny way of showing you affection; I’ll admit I have little affection for you anymore until you APOLOGIZE.

In 2017 I had hopes for Trump on several factors he campaigned on. I'll repeat them here:
1) Get out of the Middle East
2) Infrastructure program
3) Relief for the working class
4) Overturn Woe vs Wade

Trump accomplished none of these

Now in 2021 I look forward to Biden on several fronts that he has campaigned on:
The first 3 above
4) (most important) Covid defeat
5) Economic recovery
6) Overturn Citizen’s United and other election reforms
7) Police Reform / Civil Rights
Climate Change / conversion to alternative energy (it is already cheaper than fossil fuels)
9) Min Wage Increase (I would push for a max wage)
10) health care / enhanced ObamaCare (I would push for some form of Medicare-for-All)
11) Re-estabishmnet of Environment Regulations gutted by Trump
