I am interested in asking the current Provost some questions. Some are saying that a few in current Furman leadership find it hard to believe Martin England and OT Proff TC Smith were at Selma when King Marched the third time in 65

Also look for recent Furman grad and Vandy PHD Ansley Quiros in Wash Post on Luverne Alabama and need to convert some of Trump's deplorables to be better vision of America. Quiros recently wrote of Marshall Frady and the civil rights struggle in Americus Ga, Home of Koinonia and Habitat for Humanity

Response to Zoom conference on the Trump Insurrection

Postby Stephen Fox » Wed Mar 03, 2021 11:11 am

For the facebook wall of Furman's Riley Inst

Would love to have some follow up on this event, even a designated time for followup conversation with Aaron Simmons if it can be arranged. I watched the conference for the first 45 minutes, posed two questions. Would like to see all the questions that were posed if possible. While Black had roots in a family he describes as atheist there has been much written about Christian nationalism at religion dispatches and Baptist global news. And the rhetoric of the gun as it meshes with white nationalism and the Trump insurrection; and the way abortion politics mindset paved the way for the cult like politics of Trump were not explored. In real politik terms SC 3rd District Congressman Jeff Duncan is the poster child for the poison of this aspect of white nationalism and the Clemson trustees in his district are as struck mute as the 8 white ministers to whom ML King sent his letter from the Bham Jail.....
