Casey is of the class of 93 Collinsville Alabama where Ive known him since 86. His father is a former Mayor. I think it fair to say the pastor there since 76 and wife, John and Gloria Morgan are the spiritual political godparents of Casey especially on abortion. But three of their four sons resist Mattox super charged right wing politics, in particular the openly gay son Matthew, a Yale Div School Graduate. Others named shortly but the list also includes in the county, the FBC Ft Payne product Cherilynne Crowe, a Samford and Vanderbilt grad, now on staff with the Baptist Church State group for religious liberty with historic DC offices.

Could be a sixty Minutes show before this is all over given the Hispanic influence in the town and the implications for the valedictorian and salutatorian of CHS 2013, both undocumented when they walked. The fetus or DACA justice, spotlight on Gloria Morgan, who did a lot of things right and was faithful to the world she was raised in, a prayer warrior who with Casey and three of her four sons should begin an immediate read of Robert Jones, White Too Long, to see if they missed something along the way.

good history but church of the Highlands is gonna have to come up with a better politician than Phil Williams a Trump complicitor if the country is to rebound. Christians should pay attention to Fox News, and school board members and local leaders should know their American History which in Collinsville would include reading Jill Lepore's These Truths, Azar Nafisi's This Republic of Imagination,, Ed Bridges Bicentennial History of Alabama especially the chapter on the Civil War and the distorted teaching of the Daughters of the Confederacy in textbooks of public high schools for a hundred year. Single issue voting on abortion has got to go, there has to be more political discernment which in collinsville would mean all christians put at the top of their list a Clean DACA Bill which is 25 years overdue.

The stepchild on matters of abortion and fundamentalist politics, Mattox a spiritual stepchild of John and Gloria Morgan transparency only goes so far in light of the Balmer, Edsall piece today in the NY Times. Balmer was a visiting proff at Yale for Matt Morgan, the third son of the Morgans.

I think it safe to say three of Morgan's son, John and Matt of UVA and Mark of Duke, are pro choice if you ask the right questions. And Daughter in law Susan had a first cousin who worked for 20 years for Planned Parenthood in Georgia, a product of the Westminster Prez PCUSA in Greenville SC
