Brian Kaylor has an excellent rebuttal to Richard Land's falsehoods regarding the New Baptist Covenant Celebration.

Good article
Randall Balmer has called Land "counterfeit"
I hope you can bring Balmer to Mercer this fall before the election.
Land parlays the word compromise with the culture.
The article for you and Kaylor to write is about how Land compromised with Karl Rove. Rice U's Chandler Davidson can help as Davidson is a colleague of Billy Graham biographer Bill Martin.

I have placed this link in other threads, but it is most fitting in a discussion of Richard Land and Karl Rove anywhere.

[Stephen, how about starting a topic in the SBC forum on this and let the NBC forum be for discussion specific to that event and outcomes? - William]

on an excellent and fair article. I do agree with your premise that "The decline of the American Baptists may have more to do with divisions over homosexuality than issues related to evangelism." It is indeed a divisive issue, and as you know, has been highlighted here in North Carolina with the Myers Park Church Vote. It also largely accounts for the schism, I believe, between Alliance of Baptists and CBF. Both SBC and CBF need to be at their best doing missional work in evangelism and in Social Justice.
