I congratulate Rev Taber on this initiative but I hope in these interfaith conversations Furman doesn't lose sight of the best of the Baptist Tradition Jeff Rogers lectured in the collection What Really Matters. Furman can prove its salt this fall with a no stone unturned prophetic conversation framed in the Bitter Southerner Piece by Jim Barger Jr on the murder of Ahmaud Arberry in Brunswick Ga. Barger is writing in the tradition of Marshall Frady, the Baptist preacher's son and 63 Furman Grad.

Stephen M. Fox Let's have a prophetic conversation at Furman this October with Jeff Duncan and William Timmons about the Dark Money Politics of the NRA and the Stand your Ground Law that buttressed the Arberry and Trayvon Martin incidents...FTW my interfaith street cred if fairly secure as myself the son of a Baptist minister crossed the Selma Bridge in Alabama with a good Muslim friend and John Lewis and Ethel Kennedy.....Lets do some home cookin with Duncan and Timmons to make our interfaith witness even stronger!!!!!
