OJ Made in America, ESPN 30 for 30

I watched the first two hours tonight and I'm hooked for the rest of the series. Checkthe ESPN 3030 site.

Got o.f lot of kudos and it goes to the guts of OJ eras which overlapped with Ali and is central to the conversations of the wider world of the Covenant.

I also posted a note on St Stephens of Louisville facebook wall commending Dr. Kevin Cosby for his magnificent part in the Ali Memorial service Friday Night.

That Baptist preacher is a great light to the likes of Ga Baptist fundamentalist who've lost their way and with their Senator Perdue went far astray last week

It's a great shame Sam Nunn's daughter wasn't elected instead. Such is the legacy of Paul Pressler and the fundamentalist takeover of the SBC

jury selection

Postby Stephen Fox » Wed Jun 15, 2016 9:44 pm

I'm now into my 6th hour of the documentary.

It is very strong. I think it will be fair to ask the leadership team of the Covenant convo for this fall's convocation if they have watched the doc and how it may inflect their thinking about the state of juries in America and that implication for the political process as they will feature a spokesperson for Black Lives Matter.

This is a most fascinating examination of Race in America

Jury selection works both ways in the justice system is the point they are driving home in the 7th hour

Michael Brown's Mother at Amy Butler's Riverside

I do wish somehow Michael Brown could have had his life spared.

But I am convinced there are a lot of God Fearing Baptist deacons who if they had found themselves in Darren Wilson's predicament that god forsaken Sunday afternoon in Ferguson Mo would've done the same thing officer Wilson did.

It has long been noted this origin story like that of Trayvon Martin presents itself with a lot of difficulties for Black Lives Matter.

I think it appropriate for CBF and Covenant to have a rep for BLM at these events in 2016.

But I think they should be on panel re these origin stories especially now given the spotlight of Amy Butler whose ministry I adore from what I know about her.

And again, for realpolitik bring Mark Wilson of Auburn University Democracy project to talk about the court fee system in Bama. The light on court fee systems was one of the best things to surface from the Morass, the swampthicket of Ferguson.
