"I've personally asked the leadership in Congress to pass into law rules that follow the simple principle: You pay for what you spend -- so that government acts the same way any responsible family does. If you want a tax cut, you got to pay for it; if you want a new program, you got to pay for it. Tell the American people the truth -- how are you going to pay for it?" - from his in MO.

JonAudacity or DubyAudacity, or SBCLandofMenDacity

How much money from the federal government should retired military of High Rank receive annually? Should there be a limit of say 30,000 dollars a year or would that ruin the whole contract of civil service rankings.
Is it time in this country to limit the number of children per family of a limit of three. Have the SBC take care of all those over one birth a parent cannot afford to raise.

And by all accounts it looks no matter what flaws he may have, Barack Obama is doing a better job than the President elected by Karl Rove and the Richard Land Values Plan, inaugurated in the SC Primary 2000 where the Right to Life Community acted in a most unseemly way in one of the worst, carnal, mendacious, unBiblical, ungodly political campaign ever in the History of the Newnited States as Jimmy Swaggart used to say.
Just ask John McCain, his daughter Meghan and John Weaver who was fighting Karl Rove at the time.

some, but not all of Jonathan's points above

1)I am not a fan of abortion.
I am a fan of Jonathan reading Garry Wills on abortion and dealing with Gorney's exhaustive look at the politics of the matter, most recently South Dakota.
I am a fan of what John Danforth said about the politics of abortion, and I would be a fan of Richard Land coming clean on the SC Primary 2000 and the abuse of Jeffersonian Democracy, Virtue by the Right to Life Community there.

As for Obama's first 100 days, see Joe Klein in cover story of current Time Mag; also see the Movie "W" by Oliver Stone.
Also see Steven Miller: Billy Graham, Nixon and the Rise of the Southern GOP.

The tendency is to fasten one’s mind on the statistics, notwithstanding the impossibility under proven economics-history of managing the enormous debt involved in the programs of Obama and the Congressional majority, and the propaganda delivered to a public far too gullible account of ignorance of both history and current affairs. This administration/congress, at least at the top concerning its leaders, is rabidly anti-American with respect to the system that has made the country what it is – capitalism built on entrepreneurship and risk-taking fueled by innovation structured by genius-planners and workers who go about their business with dignity and fervor. The plan of the head honchos, who are well-off with no financial worries and in a position to raid the till if necessary, is to lead the Congress down the primrose path. It is no accident that not one republican in either house voted for the Obama budget. Even Specter the defector voted against it. The bank-bailout monstrosity of last October has been a fiasco, with multitudes of people still losing to foreclosure and lending agencies taking the money and adding it to their bottom lines but not to their lending activities. No House republican voted for the $787 billion stimulus plan earlier this year, and only three republicans in the Senate.

Obama has decreed bankruptcy for Chrysler, which will be owned by the government and the UAW. Obama is also the actual CEO of General Motors, which will also go bankrupt or restructure according to his rules. The effort in this case is at least partly, if not mainly, to make Chrysler and GM, as socialist enterprises, impossible for Ford and other auto companies to compete with successfully, the upshot being that the government will own the entire auto industry. At present, it owns the major banking institutions. Its combination of bailouts, stimulus, and $3.4 billion budget, never mind the rhetoric, means enormous tax increases sooner rather than later, since no meaningful spending cuts are part of the plan. The inevitable tax increases will put the country in the Olde Europe mode, as programs such as government-controlled health services induce systems of waiting lines and the disappearance of health professionals who will not trade their admittedly inordinately high incomes for government-controlled salary mandates.

In short, the government will own the people, rather than the other way around, as has been the case until now. The plan is to take control through bankrupting the nation instead of using a “palace coup,” the usual way in most third-world countries, which will be joined by this country as mediocrity takes hold in every sector of existence. This is scary but not nearly as scary, concerning actual existence, as Obama’s plans for national insecurity.

Obama's 100 days in Alabama

Postby Stephen Fox » Mon May 04, 2009 2:16 pm

http://blog.al.com/birmingham-news-comm ... _is_s.html

I think a lot is to be made of Natalie Davis classroom discussion with radio talk show host Lee Davis of Crawford Broadcasting.
She mentioned Pam Huff, a major ABC affiliate anchor in Bama and member of same church as Rick of Rick and Bubba who is a bellwether of Bama SBC politics these days, something of a poster child for the Convention, tilting away from OBama.
This column is gonna have some legs.

So here is the crux of character of Alabama.
Will Rick Lance and Bob Terry speak as strongly to Crawford Broadcasting as they have to the Sweet Home Alabama Plan.
Will Pam Huff read Natalie DAvis's colleague Glen Feldman on Religion in the White South in the published collection of essays by that name which also includes Billy Graham political analyst on Nixon and Race in same collection.

While at Crawford, Check out The History as well as The Stand linked below:

The Off shore tax loophole

Postby Chris » Mon May 04, 2009 3:57 pm

Finallly, we have a President who is going to clamp down on "Big Business" ! ! :) :) :) :)

End the off shore tax loopholes. Let "big business" pay its fair share of taxes. This has been a long time coming. HOO RAY

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch ... ets-b.html

The only people who will not like this are those who have invested in these "tax-evading" companies; and those who work for or run them.

I can easily predict which BL.com members will criticize the President for this. Oh well. YOU had your Big Business-loving President for 8 years, and look what HE did to the economy, and the deficit. :censored:
Jesus paid the price for me and everybody.
