Let me pull out an often used strategy that those who lean GOP here are quite fond of using. Put this up against the scandal and corruption that has plagued the Trump campaign, and the GOP, and their sorry, limp-wet response to a mountain of evidence that the Russians interfered in our election by colluding with the Trump campaign and this is mamby-pamby milquetoast jockeying for position within a political party.
This is the way politics works. Nothing illegal, just an in-house spat, and comparatively milder than the screwed up, inconsistent way the Republican primaries are organized, with some winner take all, some delegate allocations that favor the party bosses, and a system that was revealed to be powerless in the face of the corruption and manipulation of a candidate who never got a majority, or even a reasonable plurality, of the primary vote until almost the end of the primary season, when there was no one else in the field.
