I want to second Sandy’s mention of the Rachel Maddow show yesterday May 10, 2017: .

You simply must listen to all of this to be informed. It provides many detailed news items about the Russian Ties to the Trump Campaign/Presidency and the Comey firing - too much to repeat herein. Especially important is news about Anthony McCabe (the new acting FBI Director) and the multiply attested story (NYT, WSJ, WP, 4 European intel sources) that there were multiple and repeated contacts with Russian Intel and other officials during the campaign right as it was established that the Russians were hacking DNC servers. But listen to all of it - if you want to be informed.

Maddow's delivery is sometimes a bit sensationalistic, but her indictment of McCabe is fascinating.

Watch both of the presentations. Do your own homework. Find one fact, one statement, one comment, that she does not substantiate with a legitimate, factual source. Yeah, her delivery is different, but she's a journalist with a program that competes with commentators. But the old style of sitting behind a desk reading news bytes doesn't work on a cable news network that is on 24-7. She specializes in specific news themes, and the bottom line is, she gets it right. And she has credibility. So go ahead. Do the research, and that means actual research and not just a citation from an extremist right wing commentator who isn't dealing in facts. See if there's anything there that's not accurate.

But I think you're right Keith. Jim and Jon aren't interested in facts and don't want to be informed. That would require thought and change, and I don't think they're interested.

Well, first of all it is clear that Jon hasn't bothered to watch, and knows zilch about Maddow, because she doesn't "slam Trump at any cost." The typical right wing perspective of the media, is that anything that's not slanted wholly and completely toward their biases, and their perceptions is "liberal." But even if she did take the opportunity to point things out about Trump, why is that a problem if they are substantiated facts? Most of her reporting on Trump simply uses his own words, playing a clip of him saying one thing, and then another one of him saying something totally contradictory, or playing a clip of him making a statement, and then one of the actual evidence or facts that prove he was lying.

Was there something in her presentation, when she had the page of the buffoon's tax return, that wasn't factual? I went back and watched that presentation again. She didn't overstate or understate anything, she didn't add anything to what she had, and she provided substantiation for her sources. It's not that hard to look something up, or check it out. It's easy to just say, "I don't like her" or "She's just more of the liberal left media" but those statements are meaningless opinion unless you have facts to support what you're saying, and clearly, neither Ed nor Jon have that.

Rachel Maddow is a smart and highly educated woman. She has been known to do some good journalism from time to time but lately she has become a cheerleader for the corporate (Reagan style) Democrats/Democratic establishment. After all MSNBC is run by Comcast one of the worst corporations to work for, and the network lately has been veering further to the right. Their recent hires have included George Will and former Fox News associates. The difference between MSNBC and Fox is Fox is Republican Party propaganda (right of center) and MSNBC is Democratic establishment propaganda (center-right) Her neo-McCarthyism and Russia fear mongering is nothing more than the Establishment democrats (ala Hilarly Clinton) absolving themselves of any responsibility for running a disastrous candidate and campaign. The Russiagate thing is meant to push America into a new Cold War. The media in America is either afraid of Republicans (Republican lite- establishment Democratic), or is in the hands of Republicans. CNN is neutrality rather than objectivity. I don't bother with corporate media anymore (CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, ect). My sources of news are in the vein of Mint Press News, Redacted Tonight and other media sources in that vein. The reason corporate media is so bad in this country is because it used to be before the Clinton Telecom Act of the 90's that there was at least 50 companies that managed media, and today it is less than 10.
