I'm not sure it was a deliberate lie as much as I think that he has no clue. He is totally out of his depth and lost. He is the proverbial turtle on the fence post. No one quite knows how he got there, no one can figure out what he is doing up there, and we can't yet figure out how he is going to get down from there.

Trump spouts off on the basis of what he thinks will play to his supporters (those that praise him, ignoring those that don’t). And he does not check into the facts before speaking. Not good for a Prez.

Little bit of historical refresher course stuff:

1. The Armada sank. Those sailors who could swam ashore. The black hair of many of those in southern Ireland is anecdotally attributed to this influx of undocumented Hispanics.

2. The Crusades were a failed effort to recapture the Holy Land for the Pope.
