CBFVA General Assembly 2016

CBFVA held its annual General Assembly with Hampton Baptist Church in Hampton, VA, on Friday, Sept. 23rd. This was the first assembly for new Field Coordinator, Terry Maples, who had planned an excellent program. We had a keynote address from Matt Cook, worship led by Michael Cheuk, and a missions lunch with live sharing with the Podgaisky's in Kiev who will be the special focus for our mission partnerships for the coming year including a group who will be going next May to work at the Village of Hope. A record budget was adopted, and our new office administrator was introduced to the group. I am pleased to see how God is working in VA with CBF churches.

Sounds good. The Evergreen Regional meeting (ABC) will be held at Japanese Baptist in a couple of weeks, and we hope to attend. If so, I'll post on it.

Dave, do the churches of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia have much overlap with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia and/or the Baptist General Association of Virginia -- that is, in terms of affiliation, being dually affiliated with one of the other state conventions as well as the fellowship?

Thanks, Dave. I knew CBF churches often dually align with the SBC (e.g. President Carter's church), but wasn't sure how much they tended to dually align with state SBC bodies. Any idea whether that 1/3 alignment with the SBC would hold true across the CBF in areas other than Virginia?
