Balmer has had an interesting history with Richard Land. Any further conversations or thoughts Mohler may have on the Pope should be informed by this opinion of Balmer.

Not surprising that there's no mention of Mohler in any citation Fox has linked here. And there is absolutely nothing here related to the Southern Baptist Convention.

It seems that posting links with subject lines that aren't specifically related, or don't contain the expected discussion is deceitful, and if it doesn't violate some board rule, is a waste of time and cyberspace. I'd say that a board moderator needs to clean things up a bit, especially if we're just going to see the usual name droppings and fantasy dialogues, and just delete these threads, or move it to a more relevant topic area (though I'm not sure what that might be).

Furthermore, As Mohler and Paige wore the right wing Catholic Anti abortion wedge politics on their sleeve with the Pressler network that has morphed into the Koch Bros wing of the Tea Party personified in Trey Gowdy's swamp at FBC Spartanburg S.C. where Sandy has boasted he has friends on staff; it should be obvious to all other than the most dimwitted the implications of the New Pope's new emphasis for the narrowing world of Al Mohler.

James Carroll and the New Yorker, Balmer and Christian Century get it; obviously Thornton and Sandy do not. But I do appreciate Thornton not taking me to the margins of the Swamp or the Cane Brake on this one.
