Anyone going to this? Why on earth at a conference like this do they invite Rick Warren and Paige Patterson to be major speakers? I know Caner did a dissertation on Hubmaier, but this sounds more like a whos who list to fill seats than a serious academic conference. :brick:

Isn't there a book called Baptist Successionism by Patterson? Yeah. Different Patterson, though. Maybe W Morgan would have something to add if he were alive and in town.

Paige Patterson has styled himself as an expert and successor to the historic Anabaptists. He has done this to offset the influence of the calvinists in the SBC. So, it is not entirely unreasonable that he would be invited to speak at a conference like this.

I know. The fact that people buy it is truly disgusting. Patterson is about the furthest thing from an Anabaptist.
