I've been visiting this board off and on for several years, but had never registered. I don't know how often I will weigh in, but I appreciate the diverse discussions that go on here. They have often informed my own perceptions of issues in Baptist life.
About me: I was raised Disciples of Christ before becoming a Baptist in high school. While in college at a Baptist liberal arts school in South Georgia, I became very interested in church history and historical theology in general and Baptist history and identity in particular. I've been on faculty at Southeastern Seminary since 2007, where I teach Church History survey courses, Baptist History and Distinctives, and electives related to American Christianity and the Reformation. I'm a conservative Southern Baptist and member of a downtown First Baptist Church. I've been blogging since 2004; I currently blog at my personal website, One Baptist Perspective (), and our seminary's faculty blog, Between the Times ().
