Ball, a congregational minister and a cousin of George Washington's mother. He owned some where between 400 and 500 acres that comprised the town )
They invited Elder Beriah Kelly of Stillwater West church to come over to preach. The church here was considered a "branch of the Still water Church" for the next 10 years.
Even in this time the women's voices would be heard. On May 29 they decided that church members, male or female could vote on the settling of or dismissing a pastor1853
Regular church Meeting would be held at 2:00 P.M. and continue not more than two hours
unless by vote of the church. 1855

They withdrew fellowship from Sister Kingsley as consequence of her marriage with her former husband from whom she was divorced.1858
This was the first year that they continued Sabbath School through the winter. They reported that they had 15 classes with 113 scholars. E. D. Garnsey was the Superintendent.1860
The church list was revised. They requested those who move from this vicinity should write for their letter and unite with another church. This was an old problem keeping the list up to date.
