Where are the Voices?

Many remember when Clark Logan gave his resignation and the unprecedented move of entity heads that Tweeted about it was phenomenal. Well we now have four to be forced into resignation and no one seems to be concerned. There is even one high ranking individual that tweeted about it just as it was being announced. However, it seems that Dr. Geoff Hammond just couldn't cut the mustard.

Tim, I'm sure voices will be heard on this. News reports paint the former CEO as not a very skilled leader. I don't know. I do know that NAMB trustees were asleep at the helm when the former CEO was wasting millions of SBC dollars, trustees enthusiastically hired the immediate former CEO and even said as late as this May that he pretty much walked on water, and now trustees have forced him to resign.

As I said in the other topic, Southern Baptists deserve better. NAMB almost destroyed their credibility with me over the Reccord business. This further diminishes it.

I hold the trustees responsible for this series of debacles.

William, I agree with you. 2 forced resignations in the past few years indicates other issues than just leadership style.

When a church fires a pastor--or forces or otherwise manipulates a pastor to resign--well, maybe there is a problem with the pastor, or at least there was a poor match between pastor and congregation. But when there is an on-going history of this--the problem is rarely with the pastors, it is typically with the congregation/the church. And what is true of pastors and congregations I am sure is true of SBC entities, trustees, and the CEO's and staff. There is dysfunction somewhere, and my money is on the trustees.
