Steve Jones, pastor of Southside BC in Bham is leading opponent of the Bill of FBC Gardendale's Scott Beason.
Albert Lee Smith and his widow Eunie were once active members of Southside and George Truett preached there in 41. The Alliance of Baptists held their annual national convocation there about five years ago.
Check this site daily to see how this thing fares.
I am hoping Nick Saban's wife will come out against it. The Bham News had strong oped pieces of considerable length against the bill over the weekend; as well as Bham Attorney Isom
