I got to say I haven't read this piece yet; just got excited when I say somebody other than myself had read Bloom's great work The American Religion.
Wake Forest's Bill Leonard Himself The Historian said it was great, fun read.

I don't think Mohler is mentioned in the piece but he ought to be. Mohler does have a recent guest column in the rome News Tribune easily googled comparing Shorter and Mercer. Didn't see much in that column that would dissuade me Mohler got his little fundy beehine kicked, and kicked real good when Mother Jones did piece on Baylor and later to become Mercer's Prez Underwood in 2004. You can easily google that as well.

And my effort should be in Rome Tribune in a few days or you can read preview at this site on Nelson Price as latest incarnation of Georgia's Tom Watson of the Leo Frank Lynchin whose water Price drank most of his career in Marietta Ga not far from where Frank was lynched--now under southbound lane of I-75 just eastornorth of big chicken and brumby rocker if you want to know the exact location.

But I digressed and in a big way.
Joanna Brooks, the Mormon version of Carolyn Briggs on Romney and Bloom.
I'm waiting on Mohler and Russ Moore's blog on this one.

ABP has picked up the story

Let it play

Maybe the musical will come to
Shorter college if you read the Jeffrey Self recent column in the Rome News Tibune on the heels of Al Mohler's spew and Nelson Price's vomit there.

Newt can romp, but the flames of Hell fire are dangling, make that Romney is dangling over the Flames.

Powdersville Aint far from Pumpkintown, Tim Lahaye's first preachin gig as a student at Bob Jones. If you want to connect all the dots read Dochuk's book, the link of which is on display in public policy forum of this site; my friend Randall Balmer in the Journal of Southern Religion.
