I reckon Frank Page's backyard is probably Nashville these days.

Just glad Good Hair is no longer in my backyard...

Just wondering how long it will take before someone in the media - maybe Jon Stewart - makes a joke about Perry, Aggies and Sheep.

Every year when the Men Aggies come to Waco for some B-Ball, there is a group of Baylor faithful tossing around blow-up sheep (chants too...)

Perry at Tommy's Ham House

Postby Stephen Fox » Mon Aug 22, 2011 3:50 pm

Tommy is a Furman grad and hosts all kinds of politicians and the Furman football team and whomsoever. My Sister eats there often when she sometimes takes a Sunday service away from her home church and visits the congregation nearby with large homeless congregation and outreach.

I had questions about four Texans for Gov Perry but wasn't in the vicinity. I may have to enlist Aaron Weaver to ask them by proxy for me. In meantime let's see if Weaver or anyone viewing this cares to guess what four Texans I have chosen to see how much Perry knows about em?

How will Frank Page and Demint Speak

Postby Stephen Fox » Tue Aug 30, 2011 6:46 pm

to this. How it's playing in Ohio:

As Ohio goes, we say, so goes the nation. It seems to me that we can go either way: adapt, or thrill to our own destruction. Clinton County has the plastic horseshoe crab, but also the memory of Frank Turner. Ohio gave the world today’s Republican majority leader John Boehner, but also Benjamin Franklin Wade, the Republican senator who helped draft the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. Wade’s provision that the American public debt “shall not be questioned” has just been violated by Boehner. The Tea Party, in Ohio as throughout the nation, has found a strategy that is adaptive for itself, if maladaptive for the country: tell those who suffer from Republican policies that anyone who wishes to help them is an outsider. This summer I saw, for the first time that I can remember, a confederate flag flying before an Ohio farmhouse. Radical Republicans like Benjamin Franklin Wade and liberal Republicans like Frank Turner are pretty much extinct. The Democrats, here as elsewhere, are forced back into the position of unwilling conservatives, preserving the republic from the right-wing anarchist view that those who have wealth should not be taxed and that those who do not should thank the Lord for the chaos that ensues

Still, Frank Page ought to sit down with these folks, Posner, Ingersoll and Butler, with Charles Pickering and lets see if the Allied Defense Fund and Rick Perry are good for our country.

Oran Smith has spoken at Furman

He is widely quoted in the following article. In Smith's Rise of Baptist Republicanism I am widely referenced in the footnotes.

Perry a New Reagan?

Postby Stephen Fox » Fri Sep 16, 2011 4:29 pm

Brian Kaylor raises the question

http://www.ethicsdaily.com/perry-contin ... -cms-18532

Meanwhile elsewhere on this board it was reported Richard Land favored Eric Cantor for Vice President in 2008.

Which raises the question why would any public school teacher in any SBC church want their offering plate money divvied up by the Cooperative Program if the SBC in effect is working to eviscerate their profession?

Richard Land on CBS 2008 on Cantor

Postby Stephen Fox » Fri Sep 16, 2011 4:48 pm

[/code]
Richard Land: Well, I don't know. What I know of John McCain, he will make this choice. One of the things that makes him interesting is that he's totally unpredictable.

I'll tell you another choice that I think would ring a lot of bells among evangelical and Catholic social conservatives, and I think could have some real electoral punch to it, is Eric Cantor, the congressman from Richmond. He's the fourth highest person in the House leadership. He is a conservative, observant Jew, a one hundred percent pro-life voting record. And if he picked Cantor, that would probably help hold Virginia. And it would increase McCain's percentage of the Jewish vote in Florida and Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

CBSNews.com: Now, you've also called Senator Obama the most radically pro-abortion candidate ever to be nominated by a major party. Why is he worse, for example, than John Kerry?

Richard Land: Well, because when he was in the Illinois State Senate, he opposed the Born Alive Protection Act. That is a bill that says that if a doctor performs an abortion on a late term fetus, and the baby manages to survive and is born alive, that the doctor then has to go back into the healing profession and try to save the baby that he had just been trying to kill. And Senator Obama opposed that bill. I don't know how you can get more pro-abortion than that. And I can't imagine even John Kerry doing that. And, of course, in addition to which, he voted against the partial-birth abortion ban.

Fl's version of Eunie Smith

Postby Stephen Fox » Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:37 pm

Eunie Smith, Albert Lee's Widow, was a reputed leader, whisperer in Todd Beason's ear to get the Bama Immigration bill through Bama Legislature.
She apparently has a sister in the Work in Florida.

Is this the ideology that drives Florida and Alabama Baptists.

If so they ought to say so.

Would be great to see Bob Terry of the Bama Baptists, an early friend of ABP and still a friend of BWA, to navigate this mess with ADF's Charles Pickering as a plumbline

Presler and the TPPF of Perry and Cornyn

Postby Stephen Fox » Tue Sep 27, 2011 9:11 pm

TNR says Perry promotes the view of this group. It is to the right of Alito and Justice Roberts. Texas Senator Cornyn is aligned with this group as is Paul Pressler.

My God, who is going to demand an answer from Charles Pickering and Frank Page about this cabal

Is this Frank Page's candidate?

Prayer Ralleys like Pollock's Prayer Log in Devil All the Time may not work as Arvin in the novel, says.

Even so, good fodder, Perry is, for a McMurtry exercise.

If only it was television like Lonesome Dove and not a decision for a leader of the So Called Free World

Where do these pieces leave Richard Land and the SBC Takeover. Doesn't look like much substance for the SBC to latch on to.
