One of the implications of this article is that Pawlenty and Bachmann truck with the BWA and the BJC, but Frank Page and the SBC does not.

Should give the Tea Party fits for any Baptist up to speed who wants to ask the right questions in Iowa, better still in South Carolina.

Surely in some town hall meeting in South Carolina, somebody can explore all this with Bachmann.

Looks like as far right as she is, by virtue of her association with a coagulation of Baptists friendly with the BWA, she is to the left of Ruth Graham, somewhere about where Anne Graham Lotz is if BWA is the new plumbline in the Tea Party

I think it might be quite a stretch to connect Bachmann and Pawlenty to the BWA and BJC through the denominational affiliation of their respective churches. Bachmann isn't a member of the church she is attending. The denomination, known as Converge Worldwide, does provide financial support for both, but it is through a designated giving plan, and many of their churches do not contribute to either.

You know, Stephen, sometimes I have a real hard time following your logic, and this is one of those cases. I doubt that either Michelle Bachmann or Tim Pawlenty has more than a passing knowledge of the Baptist Joint Committee, or the BWA, and whether or not there is a connection there has nothing to do with anything.
