Mother Jones and RD.org may have Frank's number on this one.

Billy Graham is now a member of FBC Spartanburg, S.C. It may be fair to ask the pastor there what he makes of Frank's musings as well as Frank Page.

Oh, Jim, I think Obama has just done a really good job of exposing the hypocrisy of the Republicans. Boehner and his cohorts are throwing their hands up in holy horror, hollering about there not being a "defined mission" in the action in Libya, and "how are we going to pay for this," and "how do you measure success?" But they cheered and didn't utter a peep when his predecessor entered into Iraq with no defined mission (was it to eliminate weapons of mass destrution, no, to liberate the Iraqi people from a dictator, no, to protect Iraq's neigbors from Hussein's unpredictability), and spent three billion dollars by borrowing it from China, and didn't have a way of measuring success or an exit strategy (we're still there, and he proclaimed "Mission accomplished" which was followed by double the number of casualties, and more severe fighting).

The GOP just seems bent on handing control of congress back over to their opposition in 2010, and seeing Obama win in a landslide. Well, if that's what they want...

What was that mission in Iraq again? Yeah, thought so. Even Bush didn't really know, they changed so often.

The exit strategy for Iraq was planned and is being carried out by President Obama. Clueless George didn't have one, and didn't even know how to tell when it was over. He thought it ended a year and a half before it did.

The mission in Libya, as announced by the secretary of defense, is to protect civilians from military operations conducted by the Libyan military. That was stated up front, as was the timetable for the US involvement in the operation. It is a military operation, therefore, the military budget will cover the expenses, since that's what it is there for. And as the President and his secretary of defense have stated, the US role in the operation will decrease as NATO nations increase their role, most likely over the course of the next week to 10 days. Boehner and his GOP whiners are just playing politics, and looking like hypocrites in the process because of their support for the Iraq war. Trying to cover up George's inept incompetence as commander in chief is a hard job. But I hope they keep it up. It will make it so much easier to get rid of them in a couple of years.

Here is the Associated Press wrap-up for the Libyan/NATO affair: .

NATO agrees to do the no-fly thing, which means nothing since Qaddafi does not put planes in the air. The French managed to bomb a training plane while it was on the ground, proving its superiority in all things military. What has the U.S. agreed to do? Just this: bomb the bejesus out of Libya or use missiles on a daily basis, killing whoever happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (or right time, considering one’s position). But definitely not the no-fly, which is the only thing Obama said he wanted, in the first place, before he started the bombing and killing and took off for La-La-Latin-Land.

Perhaps never has this nation been as poorly led as it is now, either through outright stupidity or a willingness to relegate it to a subservient international posture. The NATO operation will be commanded by a Canadian officer, who, presumably, will tell the Americans what to do, when and where. With Clinton and Obama, the key term is “international community,” as if there is such a thing. Communities are entities that are relatively homogeneous and involve other entities within that are interested in the welfare of each other, the farthest possible thing from an “international community” made up of nations that hate each other passionately. Either the president has been profoundly suckered (dumb as a gourd) or he intends to drag this nation as far down as possible.

In a massive show of ignorance, he has placed himself in the position of telling the world why he just had to go after Libya but not Syria (where Assad is killing Syrians inside their mosque), Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Bahrain, where the “people” are being manhandled by their governments, same as in Libya. Stupidity in the highest echelons of government is making this nation both the patsy (Libya-bomber at no expense to Europe and the Arab League) and laughing-stock of the world. Obama’s own military warned him against the folly of Libya but he listened to the girls. No one should ever be the commander-in-chief without having had military experience. Add that to Obama’s penchant for apologizing constantly for his own government, having an absolute vacuum-head with respect to foreign policy, and an obvious dislike for this country (that typical white-person thing) and you have a bumbling know-nothing stumbling around exponentially. 2012 will be welcome!

I'm sure there are still a few people from private companies combing the Iraqi countryside looking for those phantom weapons of mass destruction that were never found. Spending thousands of American lives and billions of dollars invading Iraq to avenge 9-11 while it was Al-Qaida, based in Afghanistan, who led the attack, is already considered one of the most incompetent, idiotic Presidential actions in American history.

As for Libya, it seems that the vast majority of the American people, over 65%, approve of Obama's actions, think this is the right thing to do, and don't have any misgivings about it. President Obama never promised that he wouldn't use military action when it was necessary, he just promised he wouldn't be reckless about it like his predecessor was.

In November of 2007, then-Senator Barack Obama introduced (actually introduced by Sen. Reid in Obama’s name) a Senate resolution stating that President Bush did not have Congressional authorization to use military force against Iran: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that nothing in the... resolution [amendment] previously adopted, or any other provision of law.. shall be construed to authorize, encourage, or in any way address the use of the Armed Forces of the United States against Iran.

Obama was busy campaigning, presumably, for the election in November 2009 (two years is such a short time-frame) that he had to have Reid to be his proxy for this vitally important document. Iran posed no direct threat to the U.S., so Bush might have needed to pay attention to Obama’s intellect…except for the fact, of course (war powers act?), that the Iranians were extremely well-documented as providing the IEDs that were used to kill U.S. soldiers 24/7 in Iraq. The devices and/or other devices were actually stamped with Iranian origin. Bush, as he had done before, would have consulted Congress anyway since that made more sense than to just start bombing another country.

Whoa! On the basis of his own resolution, how did Obama get authorization to just start bombing Libya one night, announcing that war-act in Brazil? Was Libya furnishing military materiel in Iraq or Afghanistan? Well…no. Had he flown planes into the Empire State Building? Well…no. Did he have WMD secluded somewhere in the desert? Well…no. In fact, hadn’t Libya coughed up its WMD to the U.S. years ago? Well…yes.

Obama precisely emulated Emperor Hirohito vis-à-vis 07 December 1941, when Japan almost took out Pearl Harbor, killing nearly 3,000 GIs and got us in WWII. He plans to speak to the nation on Monday night to explain his incredible folly but he would be much better served at this point to keep his mouth shut. He has proven beyond doubt that he’s reckless, arrogant and insensitive to the putting of U.S. GIs in harm’s way for no reason at all with regard to the national interest, which is all that’s supposed to concern him. In his campaign, he threatened to take military action in Pakistan if elected if the Pakistanis didn’t try harder to take out the Taliban. Imagine what would happen if he decided the time had come, what with Pakistan having atomic bombs here and there.

Wait, some slack, please! The dear leader got his authorization from the United Nations. That’s all that was necessary – not that stuffy, slow Congress that Constitutionally has to declare war – because the world is just one great international community and he was just listening to his “gang-of-three” Amazons reminding him that mean people have to be wasted so the little people can be protected. So…he dropped some bombs on Qaddafi’s house…and apparently missed. But he’s still trying, so his heart’s in the right place. It would be hard to make this up…but there it is. And…puhleeze, don’t mention Reagan’s dropping bombs on Qaddafi’s house. He had well-documented cause and explained it quite clearly…and it had nothing to do with authorization from the UN, which ought to either be disassembled or located on some island on the Equator.

I can’t wait for the Monday night spin. I know…this is racism. Beat you to it – ha, ha!
