BP follows a Wall Street Journal article with their report of it .
Needless to say, not all churches fare well with PDL stuff. Most interesting is the NC church, "Brookwood Church in Burlington, N.C., a Southern Baptist congregation where attendance has dropped from 600 to 275 since the introduction of a Purpose-Driven approach in 2001". Read WSJ on this. The pastor of that church, five years into PDL and less than half the former attendance says "It takes time...". One wonders if a better approach would be to start you own PDL church rather than destroying the one you have.
Don't overlook the quotes from the PDL trainer who says: (1) pastor should 'help' complaining member leave if they don't stop opposing the changes, (2) you can't placate every whiny church member along the way, (3) 'You've got to play hardball' with opposition in the church. Count this pastor out of that paradigm shift.
How about that? Rick Warren in WSJ? Of course FoxNews had "Can Rick Warren Save the World?" piece over the weekend - PDL to rescue Rwanda. See it?
