Sorry, Jonathan, if I got my pronouns mixed up there, but I wasn't implying that Page was elitist and held Southern Baptists in contempt. I was implying that the writer from Baptist Press did. Why else would they go to such lengths to try to prove that Page is really on their side and that the CR really didn't "lose" after making blatant attempts to try to get their guy Floyd elected?
Perhaps I am over sensitive, and would immediately jump to the conclusion that the way articles were written about Page in Baptist Press prior to the convention were biased. However, my attention was drawn to the coverage in the Southern Baptist Texan by a conservative friend of mine and HE was the one who pointed out the obvious biases against Page.
As to the meeting in San Antonio next June, I'll be there. I was at one of those "mod-lib" gatherings in Dallas over the weekend and apparently I am not the only moderate Baptist in Texas who hasn't been to an SBC meeting in more than a decade, but is planning on attending this one. Perhaps I will see you there, then?
