ABP has posted a story about a - in short, after pointing out the same Board problems that led to Reccord's canning.
But that's only part of this intriguing story ...
The California Baptist Convention refused to seat as a messenger a NAMB trustee from California ... the same NAMB trustee who later made certain that the California missionary was terminated.
But that's still not all. You'll just have to read the article for yourself, and good luck following all the twists and turns in this yet-another-story of NAMB gone bad.
However, one more tidbit: another factor that contributed to the California missionary's termination is that he made "derogatory" statements about the BF&M 2000. Gasp! Horror of horrors!
And the clincher is a statement the barred-from-the-CBC NAMB trustee who fired the California missionary made regarding the Baptist Faith and Message 2000:
"If you can't make the 'Baptist Faith and Message' a test of fellowship, then what good is it?"
So there you have it, Southern Baptists: the powers that be have publicly noted what has long been suspected - the BF&M 2000, in the minds of the fundamentalist SBC leadership, was and is intended primarily as a club with which to pound Southern Baptists in pulpit and pew into submission to the theological whims of the fundamentalist SBC leaders.
