WMU spanks Executive Committee...

Postby William Thornton » Tue Jun 13, 2006 2:13 pm

...who had a motion related to the ladie's auxiliary status - call it the hard wiring motion. It failed, maybe 60% against.

Poor old Mike Hamlet, pastor of one of SC's largest sbc churches had to explain to the assembled brethren and sistren how this motion was a win/win for the SBC and WMU. Uh huh. They didn't want it but somehow it was paternalistically called win-win.

Most pastors know not to mess with the wmu.

Tribute to Mr. WMU Hardwire himself, Adrian Rogers, tonight. He may make an appearance to chastise the convention for voting down any further study and discussion of the hardwiring.

William, you did an incredible job today. I keep looking for your smiling face in the crowd, but they mostly show the big-shots on the platform and/or a cute girl playing a fiddle in the band. Occasionally they will pan the fat boy playing the tuba... :D Anyway, I got a hefty chuckle when Hamlet came out with that, "Win-win," comment. You're right. Nobody messes with the WMU. He who does in for some trouble fer sure...

Anyway, for your first day on the job at the Big Event, here's your well-earned reward...

You send a piece...I'll be sure and let it through, since it's bound to be harmless.
