I am a Liberty graduate (BSc Ed, '94). I will not surprise any of you that I am very happy with my diploma and won't be sending it anywhere.

Sending back your diploma sounds like numskullery to me. The pocket book is where the attention lies. (Not that I have any interest in getting their attention, just thinking this is foolish.)

John = Long time - no hear.

To all - I'm not a LIberty Grad but I am an LUO adjunct. 260 returned diplomas will not affect the 100,000+ students (resident and online combined).

The article is a leftist trying to make a mist a typhoon.

From Jerry senior to Jerry Jr, there will always be critics and they will do things against the grain of many. Hmmm with such a heritage in that family, it's amazing how the school got to where it is. The end of JErry Falwell Sr and Jr has been stated since the 70's (maybe earlier but that is where I started watching). I remember when they said he would lose it all when he stepped into the Jim Baker mess. Liberty / Thomas Road still reaching the lost... touching the world for Christ... graduating world changers.

Yeah /// a few snowflakes get through and ar enow whining with their hurt feelings.

Given the way that Liberty's leadership typically responds to any kind of opposition, I'd say that those returning their diplomas got exactly what they were aiming at. Regardless of how many there are, and as time passes, there will be more as long as Liberty continues to sully its name by its leadership's continued support for an evil, corrupt president, they've made exactly the point they intended to make. It is inconsistent to claim to be preaching the gospel and "reaching a lost world for Christ," and at the same time, give support to a national leader who promotes giving in to the selfish human nature that is the exact opposite of Christ's message.

Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

Jesus loved sinners enough to dine with them. Not question the motive of dining with sinners.

A good example Sr. and Jr. seem to follow. "Come down... I must go to your house today."

Yeah, keep justifying endorsing and continuing to support Trump and everything he does by taking the whole concept of Jesus dining with sinners out of context. When Jesus dined with sinners, it was with the intention of bringing about a life transformation, not holding their coattails and cheering them on while they continued in their sin.

I see who you learned from.

Among my 2800+ FB friends I only know of two Liberty grads, both Esperantists. Both say that they have made public statements criticizing Falwell for his support of Trump, but neither intends to return his diploma. fwiw

“The point of protest is to effect change, but I can’t imagine the Liberty diploma protest being effective in any way,” said Jonathan Merritt, a 2004 Liberty graduate and Religion News Service columnist.

To be so omniscient on the discussions of faith happening with Trump must boost your ego. Then claiming JFJ was holding cocktails and cheering... blows your cover.

Back off a bit, both of you. I don't know what JFJ means and I'm guessing cocktails are coattails, but both of you, chill, kay?

JFJ = Jerry Falwell Jr.

For information purposes only.

It may be coattails. Trying to find my glasses. Should have realized since PDT does not consume the devil's brew.

Actually, the correct expression is "riding on his coattails," not holding on to them. I did check to make sure that coattails is used properly as one word. It is.

I hadn't seen any facts actually posted, so in the spirit of "backing off a bit," I'll just post this, an update of Stephen's original post. I did check some of the statistics and claims with other sources, and found nothing that the Post either skewed, missed, or got wrong.
