I don't believe the UCC "owns" or "operates" its seminaries. I believe they are affiliated with the UCC. For example Andover Newton, on the UCC list of schools, is both UCC and American Baptist. Neither denomination owns the seminary. United in Twin Cities according to its description has a "ecumenical" charter and has a partnership both with the UCC and the UMC. There are a lot of schools, theological or otherwise, that are affiliated with a mainline denomination but are not owned or operated by the denomination. If Dave finds out that Union Presbyterian is actually owned by the PCUSA I will be surprised.

The information I'm getting from Presbyterians is that the seminaries are not own or run by the denomination but are independently affiliated with the PCUSA and sometimes other denominations as well.

This is a bit off topic. But I think the seminaries being owned by the SBC has put them right in the middle of the denominational warfare in ways that have made me wonder over the years if it is a positive or a negative for the SBC as a whole.
