Disappointing Associational Meeting

Postby Ed Pettibone » Sat Nov 20, 2010 5:06 pm

After Attending a very good Regional Meeting in Norwich last month our (CABA) Capital Area Baptist Associational meeting today was some thing of a disappointment. The business meeting was pretty cut and dried. The music wasn't bad for projected words backed up with a guitar & piano. Regulars here know my opinion of singing to projected words, and in this case there wasn't even a bouncing ball. No solos or quartet specials.
The camaraderie was verry good, but not even half of our 28 churches had representatives present. We did have some interesting reports about the ABC-USA and combined CBF efforts in Haiti after the earth quake there. These reports where presented by 5 people from another ABC-NYS association who have had one week first hand mission experiences there during this year. The one pastor who mentioned CBF, did so at least five times, come to find out he had no prior experience with CBF but was extremely impressed with the CBFers he met there. He is acquainted with Baptist Today and when he learned that we are having John Pierce speak, he now hopes to attend our spring CBF meeting at Burnt Hills, next May 6th & 7th. David Flick of Oklahoma/ will also be here to tell us more about Bacone College. Which as many of you know I an ABC School primarily for Indian Students.
