Postby Ed Pettibone » Mon Mar 01, 2010 11:55 am

Rev. Hamilton was officially installed as pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church of Schenectady last evening.

Due to the size of the gathering the event was held in the First Methodist Church building a few blocks west of the Friendship Church property. I estimated the crowd to be approximately 425.

It was an awesome service.from the Musical Prelude by Minister John C. Hagwood Sr., who is the Director of Music and Worship Arts, Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church in Albany, to the Praise and Worship program presented by the Deacons of the Friendship and Metropolitan Churches.

The Worship Leader was the Reverend Leonard D. Comithier, Pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church, Albany. THere waas a processional of the Metropolitan Mass Choir, attending pastors, Ordained Clergy and Licentiates and the entry of Rev. Hamilton with his wife and their daughters.

The invocation was delivered by the Rev. Howard A, Sheffey, pastor of The Old Stone Church, Ballston Spa. NY.

The Hymn of Celebration was Great Is Thy Faithfulness

The Scripture readings OT/NT where done by two associate Ministers of Metropolitan Baptist Church.

A prayer of thanksgiving was offered by Reverend John Franklin Lyde, Jr. - Pastor, pastor Morning star Missionary Baptist Church Albany.

3 hrs 50 Min. Good preaching, grand Music, blessed fellowship !

It might be explained that the crowd was so large because Both Rev Hamilton and his wife Nicole are products of the Capital area they grew up in two different churches and since seminary he has been on the staff of Metropolitan, and is now pastor of a fourth church in the area, plus all Baptist pastors in the area where invited.
