Weers Appointed MMBB Regional Representative
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 1/22/09) — Dr. Sumner M. Grant, executive director of The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (MMBB), has announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Weers as a regional representative, effective January 1, 2009. Mr. Weers’ service area includes Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Said Dr. Grant: "MMBB is fortunate to have employed a person who has deep financial skills combined with a passion to minister to those who serve the church of Jesus Christ. Paul Weers will bring compassionate and knowledgeable service to our members in this difficult economic environment."
Prior to joining the MMBB staff, Mr. Weers served more than nine years in the planned giving and development department of the American Baptist Foundation. He brings 17 years of experience in financial services to MMBB.
Since 1991 Mr. Weers has been a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and has 14 years experience as an investment broker and was a National Association of Security Dealers registered principal.
Mr. Weers holds a B.A. degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. A life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Peoria, Illinois, Mr. Weers served on the Diaconate, Board of Trustees and Pastoral Relations Committee, chairing each group during his tenure. He has served on the Judson University President’s Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Baptist Student Foundation at the University of Illinois, Champaign, and is a founding member of the Board of the Pastoral Counseling Services of Peoria.
