Highlight of NYS ABMen Meeting

Postby Ed Pettibone » Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:44 am

Ed: On friday I went to Keuka College an American Baptist school located in the New York Finger lakes region. It was a beautiful drive and I had the company of the Pastor and one layman from the Granville Baptist church. The purpose of the trip was to attend the 75th anniversary meeting of the NYS Baptist men the oldest continually operating Baptist Mens group in the ABC. There where around 65 men and 22 boys from acoss the state. The primary worship leader was Dr. David Carrico, Exc. Minister of the West Virginia Baptist Convention.

The Boys participated in some of the general sessions But they also had their own activites consisting of a number of competitive events and Bible studies.

Saturdy night at the Banquet to reconize the NYS AB Man of the year the highligt was not the anouncement that the man of the year was Steve Davie of our own Adirondack Association but that in one of the bible studies that afternoon two ot the young men had accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Steves son accepted the award for his dad who is recovering from an appendectomy performed on Friday.
