Ed: Just happend to sit next to a new board member and discoverd in our introductions that he is also an SBTS alum. He squeeed in and out of Southern between myself and Trudy. He stared in the fall of 92 and graduated in the spring of 95. I had graduated in the spring od 92 and Trudy started in the summer of 95. His Name is James Rice. Unlike most of us in the ABC-USA who attended a Southern Baptist seminary he has never been a Southern Baptist. The pastor of the NYS, ABC-USA church he was attending when he started considering seminaries, recomended SBTS. While there he pastored an ABC church in a part of Southern Indiana that I am familiar with since it is in the area served by the employment service office that I managed in the 1980's. Tim will reconize the name of the Area Minister at the time jim was there it was Riley Walker. We knew Riley through our pastor in Cincinnati, who had been at Arora, IN, before moving to Lakewood.
J.Rice had lived on the church feild while in Seminary and took only Monday and Friday classes (that is something new since most of you where there.) He heard a lot about the controversy in dicusssions with other students but not being SBC he wasn't caught up in it. THe Secretary of the board informed me tha he and his wife have reservations at the same hotel where Trudy and I will be staying for the CBF and ABC-USA meetings in June at the convention center in Washington D.C.
