Evergreen broke with custom this year and held its annual meeting at FBC Palo Alto. And yes, this did mean I didn't make it this year. But through this "Storify" summation I, and you, can get a bit of the flavor of it.

James Forbes is quite a formidable preacher.

I was surprised that Palo Alto would be in the same conference as a Seattle church. But I see where that is true. From http://www.evergreen-abc.org/whatis.html:

Evergreen Association of American Baptist Churches is an American Baptist Region of churches in Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Venezuela and Washington doing business by consensus and organized by ethnic caucuses.

What? No Oregon? This says there are 35 Oregon ABC-USA churches.

In my recollection, ABC of Oregon was always a separate Region, while ABC of the Northwest never had any Oregon churches in it to my knowledge. Evergreen has churches in AK, WA, ID, UT, CA and Venezuela, but none to my knowledge in OR.
