Regardless of one's AGW position, I thought the use of ethanol was contrary to the BF&M (or at least the church covenant); doesn't the HCSB show clearly that at Cana Jesus changed the water to grape juice?

There are no stations in our area who do not add ethanol to their blends. Hauro is right--in the mountains where I grew up they called it "corn licker."

Got it for $2.27 on a road trip to east Tennessee this weekend. Saw my first E-85 pump too!! :thumb: E-85 was $2.07. If my Honda could handle it, I would have used it just to see how much of a hit I would have taken on gas mileage and then do some calculations for which is the better alternative. Also was amazed to see a station that advertised 'no ethanol'.

It was $2.69 along I-95 yesterday. The economy must be improving and the oil companies and Arab shieks want their shares.

Ed; Somebody is really doing some price gouging when you guys are that high. Regular is still 2.64 in Queensbury,NY - our first stop on the interstate going south, 31 miles from us, although the average for the state is 2.73 but usually we are 10 to 12 cents ahead of you all. BTW that state average counts NYC which is now about $3.25 due primarily to the high price of real estate for stations.

On my way to work yesterday, a 23 mile drive across the western half of the Houston area, I noticed that Shell and Exxon stations were 2.49 to 2.65 while the Valero and Corner Market two blocks from my house were duking it out at 2.38 and 2.39. The Wal mart I pass had it at 2.39 in the morning, but 2.32 when I came home. I wonder how Shell and Exxon can compete. At one corner, where there's a Valero and Shell, the Valero is packed, the Shell hardly has any cars at all. It's a corporate gouge because oil isn't that high, but demand increased when it got down close to 1.50, though I heard yesterday that as it has climbed in the last few weeks, demand is falling off again. I think the rip offs we encountered during the previous high prices finally taught us how to knock down our demand for gasoline and we're doing it.

Ed: David, on 7/5 at least one station in Florence SC had regular at $2.25 Cash and 2.28 Credit.

That was the best price the we found over the past 14 days in 3000 plus miles through nine states and the District of Columbia. We filled up in Queensbury NY on 6/24 for $2.73 Here in North Creek it had been 2.82 when we left, to day when we returned it was 2.81 but I have a half tank left after filling up on I 95 in NJ for $2.55. After that fill up, I did find regular for as low as 2.43 on NJ H'way 17. Florida prices at $2.54-59 where the highest out side of New York. I averaged 27.5 MPG over the entire trip which included a lot of stop and go coming north on I 95 from 60 miles south of Richmond, VA until we got past Washington DC. The prices that I saw in Houston where 2.46 -2.53 That really surprised me.

Can't believe this. Gas here was only $2.41 this morning. Is it really higher in OK?

I think I need to repent in sackcloth and ashes for mentally complaining this morning when I drove by the gas station and noticed the $.15 hike from yesterday. Our prices are still far below everyone else's that has posted here. We're paying $2.79 in the Kansas City area.
