Here is a sampling of publicly disclosed information on folks and organizations you might recognize:

Bailey Smith Ministries 2004 revenue, $788,235; Bailey Smith compensation $157,922.
Charity Navigator gives BSM a one star rating which means “Fails to meet industry standards and performs well below most charities in its Cause.”

Walk Through the Bible Ministries
2004 revenue, $10.7 million; five employees earn about $100k or more. Charity Navigator gives WTBM one star.

Love Worth Finding (Adrian Rogers)
2004 revenue $10.1 million; President, Roland Maddox compensation $119k; Charity Navigator gives LWF three stars “Exceeds or meets industry standards and performs as well as or better than most charities in its Cause.”

The rating scheme of this watchdog outfit may not reflect the things that concern folks like me...but it is worth looking at.
More later...
