It is time for some accountability from the Bush adminstation and just plain old fashioned truth telling ... we need to get out of Iraq and bring our valient service personnel HOMR! A must see flash presentation:

[quote="--Aaron--"]As I wait for the flash presentation to load (I hate dialup service) I wonder, who of us could honestly say that we would feel 100% safe with Saddam Hussein in a position of power in the government of a country with less than honorable intentions in regards to human life? Which of us could honestly say that the threat that Osama Bin Laden posed to our country (and it's individual citizens) didn't cause us any discomfort? quote]

Aaron, we are much less safe today than we were before the War in Iraq started. This true for many reasons. I will share two: 1)We have turned Iraq into a magnet for wannabe terrorists. 2) Osama is still at large.

Perhaps the greatest travesty of the mess is that over two thousand American Service personnel have died so the new Iraq can operate under a constitution that prohibits the passage of any law that contradicts the Koran. This is what we get for 2,000 lives and billions of dollars, an Islamic theocracy. Bush has the gall to call this democracy. It is plain that he would not recognize democracy if he saw it.

That doesn't seem likely, aside from the occasional video evidence that springs up and contains something that confirms the time that it was recorded. If Osama Bin Laden were captured, or the evidence existed that he had been eliminated in some way, the Bush administration would have released the information immediately. It seems to be one of the few things that might still have a chance to salvage his failing presidency and they wouldn't miss that bet.

Even if he does wind up getting captured or killed, the boost to Bush would be temporary at best, since most Americans now realize that there are far more enemies out there in the war on terror than Osama Bin Laden, and that the approach taken by the Bush administration has only made things worse.

Neither he nor I have any substantiation to this claim; it's just his 'gut feeling' from his 18 mo stint over there. I made the same claim you did in regards to Bush's interest in releasing this information and his reply was something like this: Osama is our 'last' specifically named enemy. If Bush admits to having captured or taken him out (he feels like Osama was nailed by a sniper) then the war is over, so we need him to still be 'at large'.
