So here we have a conservative Christian university making the distinction between extremist right wing conservative politics and the Christian faith, and separating themselves from the former with a strong identification with the latter. I applaud their decision. Their statement is right on target.

Apparently one article covering this issue made note of the fact that the university which cancelled the Shapiro speaking engagement was the "nation's largest Christian university". Liberty no longer holds that title.

No matter how you describe it, or attempt to hide it behind nebulous descriptions like "Judaeo-Christian values," you can't claim to be adhering to a "Christian worldview" and have that perspective defined by individuals who are not Christian, even in any loose sense of the term. Regardless of what he may have in common from a "conservative" political perspective, according to the first couple of chapters of First Corinthians, he does not have the "mind of Christ" and in this regard, has nothing of value to offer to Christians except the worldly wisdom they so readily shun coming from anyone who doesn't share their political position. And as John said in his first epistle, any spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus as the Christ is the spirit of the antichrist.
