Relieved to be back to full staff!

Postby Tim Bonney » Mon Jan 07, 2019 9:54 am

This past week our new Associate Pastor started his ministry with my church. I’m much relieved! The position was vacant for that last six months and I’ve felt like a one armed paper hanger trying to keep up with everything.

It’s uncommon for there to be gaps like this in the Methodist church. But we are seriously short on clergy in Iowa. This young guy is coming to us from Duke Divinity School (UM related) and Simpson College, which is here in Indianola. Maybe I’ll get my day off a bit more often now. :-)

Did I not read somewhere when you first went there that the church has three services on Sunday? Same sermon or do you come up with different material for a different service?

I once heard that ministers never get a day off.
