Black Music in White Places/Groups: "Florida Storm"

Postby Haruo » Tue Mar 07, 2017 9:30 pm

This coming Saturday will be the Olympia All-Day Sacred Harp singing. It's a Denson-book singing, but one of the most honored guests will be a scion of the Wiregrass Singers, people who sing or sang from a combination of the Cooper Sacred Harp and The Colored Sacred Harp. Although it is a Denson singing, we will step out of that stream long enough to sing one song from The Colored Sacred Harp, Judge Jackson's famous FLORIDA STORM. Stay tuned, more later.

Here's a YouTube of the Wiregrass Singers doing FLORIDA STORM.
