In addition to the folks named above, Facebook and other sources name Jim Henry's Daughter Kate Campbell -- see bio at www.katecampbell.com -- , Baptist Women in Ministry Founder Eileen Campbell Reid of Carson Newman and Powell Tn, and Hillary Beard, daughter of associate pastor of FBC Guntersville, Alabama and formerly Ft Payne Alabama in the march in DC. Also Collinsville, Alabama native, now Baylor Chaplain Becky Kennedy in the Waco March.

I'm sure there were thousands of others. Some say ten thousand women from Alabama made the trip to DC. NPR reports out of Bham report three busloads left Bham and Huntsville last weekend.

One irony of some of the women's march was those who complain of Trump's loud, vulgar and obnoxious ways responding with their own loud, vulgar and obnoxious ways. An eye for an eye, I guess.

If you had been grabbed, groped and called vulgar names all day where you worked and if you objected, were told to "lie back, spread your legs and enjoy it. After all, you volunteered, you weren't drafted!" Would you respond with white lace gloves and a quiet "Yes, dear". It happened to me and to millions of other women my age. I couldn't just go home to Mommy. I was on active duty in the US NAVY. If polite doesn't get you anywhere, sometimes you have to bring out the pitchforks and baseball bats to be heard.

Do some people have reasons to be angry about some things? Yes. So that justifies, for example, Ashley Judd saying Trump has wet dreams about his own daughter and Madonna wanting to blow up the White House? I don't buy it.

[Yes, I'm sure Madonna doesn't actually intend to blow up the White House, but that kind of rhetoric has consequences, just like Trump's bad rhetoric.]

I am one of those who have no idea what these women were marching for.

When the bad mouthing about other women not like minded happened -I saw it was not really a march for women but a specific group of womens idealogy.

I guess if you are not like them you can't hang with them.

GO WOMEN - at least some of you...

Jon, I also had trouble understanding what the march was about, given the varying things that were said leading up to it. Here is the way one woman described it:
I knew, of course, that the organizers of the March had excluded pro-life sponsors and had made it clear that pro-life women were not welcome, but I hoped that the March would nevertheless focus on the message of resistance and unity that the organizers had preached and advertised. However, as I scrolled through the 129 photos of and about the March posted by my friends on Instagram, not to mention the hundreds of photos and videos that flooded my Facebook and Snapchat, any illusions I held quickly faded away. The thousands of signs depicting uteruses and proclaiming “My Body, My Choice,” the calls to “Abort Trump,” and the adoration bestowed on Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards made it clear that this so-called “unity” consisted of one thing, and one thing only: unity of opinion about a woman’s right to choose. Novelist Tupelo Hassman Open letter to Jeff Sessions

Postby Stephen Fox » Thu Jan 26, 2017 6:55 pm

NPR put me on to Ms Hassman's novel Girlchild about the Girl Scout manual a couple years ago. Several of my sister's friends in the Girl Scouts love the novel including a Rotarian in good standing in the Methodist Church in Clemson South Carolina.

Tupelo is a little feisty and her language and testimony is strong so be warned

Dear Jeff Sessions,
I was thinking about how you're unclear on whether or not grabbing someone by the pussy is sexual assault and I wanted to get with you to help sort out the confusing bits.
English is such a mess of a language. I could explain that verb, grab, to you, if that's the problem. I'm an English professor.
Or is it the pussy part? Because I could explain that too. I'm a woman and a mother. This makes me an expert pussy-haver and a tremendous fan.
I think, though, the confusion is in the BY. When Donald Trump was talking about how he performs sexual assault, he said, "I grab them [the sexual assault victims] by the pussy." So, Trump isn't just talking about sexually assaulting a stranger's genitalia, as if we could compartmentalize ourselves in this way - and believe me every survivor of sexual assault has tried - the BY lets us know that Donald Trump's intent is to assault the entire woman, if not many, or all, women.
Think of another part of the body, Jeff, one you might be more familiar with, let's say, the asshole. When your asshole is grabbed by Donald Trump, this is different than when Donald Trump grabs you BY the asshole. Right? When Donald Trump grabs you BY the asshole, you can then be manipulated, kind of like a ventriloquist's dummy. You feel what I mean?
When I was 15, a stranger grabbed my pussy. He seemed confused, like you, Jeff Sessions, about whether that was sexual assault, and he didn't even go to law school.
When I screamed (and kicked and punched) he told me to shush and scratched my face while he tried to cover, or, we could say, grab, my mouth. I still have a little scar on my left cheek from that. My pussy made a full recovery.
What I'm wondering is, if the direct question, "if you grab a woman by the genitals, that's not sexual assault?" is still confusing to you, then would you, Jeff Sessions, grab a woman by the pussy?
I don't know. It's not clear.
Tupelo Hassman

Tupelo did not make it to DC. She marched in the Bay area; but she tells me she has been to Rome, Georgia.
