I'm getting a little bit concerned about what will happen in the event that Hillary, or Sanders for that matter, wins the 2016 election. Virtually every credible poll points to it. If Trump is the GOP nominee, his negatives are far higher than hers, and I can't imagine a scenario that would cause enough of the electorate to gravitate to him to provide him with the electoral votes he needs to win. He keeps saying he wants to run against Bernie Sanders, and has dragged out the "C" word, which indicates he perceives him as a threat, probably because Sanders leads Trump in the few head to head national polls that are currently out.

The vitriolic bashing that has gone on in the GOP is bad enough, not only an embarrassment that has caused a lot of panic and desperation at RNC headquarters, but to the whole country as well. If Trump doesn't win the GOP nomination, either by not getting enough delegates, or through a brokered arrangement, his supporters are not going to turn out in large numbers for an establishment candidate. The fact that many of them hang on his every word, and continue to wave his flag, even after the outrageous, outlandish, contradictory things he says, and the outright lie upon lie, is an indication that they have no knowledge of, or respect for how a democratic republic works, and all they know about the constitution is that their rights mean more than the other guy's, especially if he doesn't believe the same way. If he doesn't get it, you'll see a rise in civil disobedience, gun violence, armed occupations like the incident in Oregon. The militia groups and extremist activists among them have redefined historical terms, consider any government that doesn't do their bidding, or disagrees with their perspective as "tyrannical" and interpret the second amendment to mean that they have the right to secede from it or overthrow it. And the irony of it all is that they don't understand Trump is a One Percenter, and as President, he will immediately set out to fatten his own pockets, prosper his own friends and businesses, and do it by robbing the rest of us into oblivion. That's exactly who he is, and what he's about, and he will use any means to get it.

Sandy, why is it a worry for Democrats if the GOP self-destructs? Maybe it is time for the more moderate Republicans to form a party that believes what Republicans used to believe and let the Tea Party crowd go.
