White Fertility Rates Key to Future GOP

In 2002, a high-ranking Republican leader was the keynote speaker at a Dominionist "Worldview" conference. The theme of this and other Dominion "Worldview" conferences is that all aspects of the U.S. government should be directly directed and governed by the Bible. In other words, they believe that America should be a theocracy ... and they are devoted to seeing their "vision" realized. The conference was kicked off with the claim that, "We can have a biblical worldview for our government as well our civil government. That's what this is all about."

Of course, this so-called "biblical worldview" is an extremist right-wing view.

As David Barton declared at this particular conference, the Bible addresses the progressive income tax, the capital gains tax ("There are clear, unequivocal verses on it."), the estate ("death") tax, zoning, the minimum wage and the 40-hour workweek. Barton also foreshadowed the current issue over judges: "Judges are the basis of the land's righteousness."

Rick Scarborough, founder of , author of Enough is Enough: a Call to Christian Involvement, In Defense of Mixing Church and State, and founder of the Judeo-Christian Council for Constitutional Restoration echoed the call for Christians to takeover the U.S. government.

Leading Reconstructionist is frequently a speaker at the Dominion Worldview conferences, but was not at this particular conference, although his Reconstructionist books were for sale.

Marshall Foster, president and founder of the , did speak at this conference and explained the centrality of male-controlled families in a theocratic government. According to Foster, a true biblical worldview will only come about if fathers take control of families and establish a "family dynasty."

"That's what the children need they need a biblical worldview from dad," he said. "Do you want political dominion over America? I do.... If that's going to take place, it will be when the Christian families of America know God, so we elect only those who know God, are godly and will rule according to the word of God."

Foster continued, "Civil government must return to its relationship under God and only doing what God tells it to.... So don't tell me we shouldn't be involved in politics!...We can take dominion over America through godly service. If we would only do it right, the church of Jesus Christ is the most powerful force in America."

The other speakers on the program also strongly advocated theocratic, dominionist theology.

The Republican speaker aroused the crowd by declaring that although he used to be of the "other worldview," he "found Christ again" and now shared the "worldview" of the conference participants. "He [God] has been walking me through an incredible journey, and it all comes down to worldview," he told the crowd. "He is using me, all the time, everywhere, to stand up for biblical worldview in everything that I do and everywhere I am. He is training me, He is working with me." He decried the notion that churches are not for politics, asserting that he was motivated to "get out of the church and into the streets and standing for [God's] worldview"

He continued, noting that with George W. Bush in office, God "is giving us this opportunity to change our culture."

Just who is this leading Republican who advocates Dominian theology and a theocratic government in America?
