The Tea Party and the Rick and Bubba show have embraced this movie in unified promotion. The Tea Party has co-opted this other wise good story about Bear Bryant (Jon Voight) and Tony Nathan and Jeff Rutledge in feel good movie about HS football, Jesus and reconciliation in Bham in 74

I applaud much of what I have heard about this 25 million dollar budget movie, but fear the sophomoric uses for which it is being used much like Nixon and the Billy Graham movies all over again.

The Erwin Brothers were on the sidelines of the UGA game and got on ESPN the week before the Bama game. Castille as Tony Nathan was on camera as well.

Rick and Bubba had hour 30 minute promo on their radio program Monday. Rick is featured speaker in Baptist churches in Bama and Mississippi every weekend now and spouts off the worst kind of Albert Lee Smith legacy propaganda daily on his radio program in a Jerry Clower good ole boy pastiche.

Movie may have some redeeming qualities, but the whole Rick and Bubbam, Yellowhammer News package is poison. Witness the history of Floyd in the SBC!

About this movie and the enthusiasm aroused in Bham by SBC Strength to STand's Rick Burgess of the Rick and Bubba show:
